What Autumn mornings were made for

Our last morning walk was about a month ago, on a Sunday. It was perfect Fall weather. Chilly but sunny and clear skies. We hadn't gone for a morning walk for a month (because of someone's laziness), but the weather was so good we had to get out of the house.

Now it wouldn't be possible to take these photos. It's almost always very foggy in the morning, and we haven't seen the sun for about 2 weeks. It's making it very difficult to get up in the morning!

When hunger presses, and home seems far away and the 10 minute train trip feels like it will last one hour, it's necessary to distract one's stomach with a little something!

Today

We had the first full day of rain since we came back from vacation. It's been raining non-stop.
It's not that bad, though. In Portugal the rain usually brought along strong winds, making it very difficult to be outside. Here there's no wind and I don't have to choose between keeping the umbrella intact and getting a little bit wet, or protecting myself from the rain and breaking the umbrella.

Fall is coming in at full speed.
These photos were taken with the cellphone this afternoon during my walk to the supermarket. Aren't the colors pretty?

Anyway, today was also the first day of school for the penultimate module before the big test! Given the fact that I had to get up at 6:30, which is something that hasn't happened since the end of July, I was expecting to feel sleepy and lazy after lunch.
Surprisingly that didn't happen and by 16:00 I already had this recipe on the stove, was preparing this one and had finished several other chores around the apartment.
All in all it was a very productive afternoon!

Hohenschwangau - Alpsee

The Alpsee, as I first wrote in this post, is in Hohenschwangau, near Füssen. It covers an area of almost one square kilometer, with about five kilometers of shoreline.

There is a circular path leading round the shore, which is more or less in its natural state and protected as a nature reserve; there are also benches all around, where it's possible to sit and have a picnic!

Bodensee - Lindau & Friedrichshafen

Bodensee (or Lake Constance in English) is a lake located at the northern foot of the Alps. It's shorelines are shared by Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

We have been to Bodensee three times. The first two visits were in March and in June, when we had family visiting.  Luckily, we had warm weather and good visibility (yay for no fog!) on both visits and were able to enjoy the views.
It's a very beautiful area and we want to go there again. There are many small towns along the shoreline that are worth visiting, and one of the islands, Mainau, which is kept as a garden island and is one of the main attractions, is still on our must-see list!

On our first visit we went to Lindau and Friedrichshafen.
Lindau is one of the islands in the lake and one of the largest cities located on the German shoreline.
Friedrichshafen is famous for being the location where Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin established his aircraft factory.
