What Autumn mornings were made for

Our last morning walk was about a month ago, on a Sunday. It was perfect Fall weather. Chilly but sunny and clear skies. We hadn't gone for a morning walk for a month (because of someone's laziness), but the weather was so good we had to get out of the house.

Now it wouldn't be possible to take these photos. It's almost always very foggy in the morning, and we haven't seen the sun for about 2 weeks. It's making it very difficult to get up in the morning!

Train food

When hunger presses, and home seems far away and the 10 minute train trip feels like it will last one hour, it's necessary to distract one's stomach with a little something!

Like plain Chinese noodles...

or smoked salmon wraps...

or Chinese noodles with vegetables...

On the road - there and back again through Germany

Driving in the German highways is never dull.
For example: you can drive for kilometers without a speed limit, then all of a sudden the speed limit becomes 100, 200 meters later it's 80. And you see all the cars in the left lane breaking at the same time, all getting very close to each other, until you think for sure there's going to be an accident. Then, all of a sudden, the speed limit disappears again - and you are left wondering why in the world the speed limit was there for, until you realize that it was because there was a curve on the highway, or because there was a slight descend. It makes perfect sense - NOT!

Then you are presented with little "pearls" like the ones bellow:

^^ These people really l-o-v-e to pull big trailers, or whatever that thing is, with their cars. ^^

^^It's even better when it's caravans, which already drive very slowly, doing it.^^

^^Then there's the old car pulling there older car.^^

^^And the couple who decided that the best way to spend time together was to ride on the highway side by side while trying to have a conversation. Again, it makes perfect sense!^^

It's nerve racking and, without question, the worst part of the entire trip. Only the landscape saves the day and makes it a little better.

Schwäbische Alb - Bad Urach & Uracher Wasserfall

The Uracher Wasserfall is in the middle of the Maisental (or Maisen Valley in English) at the outskirts of Baden Urach.
The spring falls 37 meters and then runs another 50 meters into the valley.

After hiking up, and down, to the ruins of Hohenurach, we made a short stop at a biergarten right in the middle of a meadow and enjoyed a sausage with pretzel and a radler. This meadow is also the place where one can see the beginning of the waterfall.

On the road - there and back again through Spain

Spain is the easiest part of the trip. It's always highway and the road isn't so busy as in France or Germany.
The landscape is also very interesting and completely different. One hour we are going through mountains in the Basque Country and the next we can almost pretend we are in the desert! Specially around the provinces of Burgos and Valladolid the trees are very scarce.

We stopped in Burgos and walked a little bit around the center while we waited for the restaurants to start serving lunch!
